IV. Agreements

ANTH 260 & ANTH 460/660*

I understand that ANTH 260 & ANTH 460/660 encompass an 8-credit program lasting 8 weeks and which include field research and classroom work in both Colorado and Tennessee.

2. Mandatory Work Sessions*

I understand that in addition to the weeks in the field, there will be mandatory field sessions at CSU and one week after returning from Tennessee.

3. Travel /Climate/ Labor*

I understand that we will be working in the field amid varying and volatile weather conditions; that I will be expected to perform physical labor; that work days will be long, often intense, and may include lengthy travel; and that weekly class and fieldwork will take place all day, 5 days a week and a half day on Saturday.

4. Meal Prep and Clean-up*

I understand that as part of the field school, I will share responsibility for preparation of meals, clean-up, and other tasks as they arise.

5. Goodwill*

I understand that acting with goodwill, maintaining a positive attitude, and offering to be helpful towards fellow students and instructors and towards other people we encounter and work with is a requirement to participate with the field school.

6. Ethical Behavior and Respect*

I understand that as part of the field school, I will act ethically and with respect toward others in all aspects of field work, apartment life and personal life.

7. Costs*

I understand that in addition to the tuition and course fees, I will be responsible for the following costs: transport to and from Pinson Mounds; personal linens and supplies for bunkhouses.

I understand that specific schedules for a given week are subject to change and that remaining open and adaptable to shifting circumstances caused by weather, research-related issues, or other local factors is a requirement at all times.
