As communications specialist for Department of Anthropology and Geography, Josh produces written and video content on faculty research and student achievement, coordinates the department outreach program, and manages social media and other communications. he also supports media relations and alumni and donor engagement and organizes department events.

Josh is also an instructor who has taught science and news writing and communications classes at CSU through the Department of Journalism & Media Communication and the Warner College of Natural Resources. He developed and has taught courses with the online Graduate Certificate in Communications for Conservation through the Warner College, and also leads science writing and media workshops.

His journalism work has appeared in High Country News, Audubon, Yale Environment 360, Slate, Wired, Scientific American, Hakai Magazine, Nature Conservancy, CSU Magazine, and many other print and digital publications.
