Dr. Chris Davis (MA ’13, Anthropology), Project Archaeologist with Paleocultural Research Group, will present as part of our Spring 20202 seminar series with his talk, “Foraging Along Blue Highways: Seasonality and Subsistence Strategies in the Middle Stone Age of Ethiopia.”
WHEN: March 4, 4:30-5:30pm
WHERE: LSC 372-374
Abstract: Dr. Davis will speak on a study that uses faunal remains to reconstruct site formation and foraging behavior at SM1, a Middle Stone Age site in Ethiopia. Analyses document seasonally-structured habitat use and aquatic foraging at SM1. The results offer insight into human evolution in Africa and the development of behaviors that facilitated our eventual worldwide expansion.
